"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?
— The Mad Hatter"
I've learned that sometimes people actually pay attention to me when I ramble. Almost a year before the shower when we were discussing ideas for the wedding I had mentioned that I would love to have a Mad Hatter themed wedding. My groomzilla thought I was loony but my bridesmaids heard this and it sparked in their minds that they now have a more than appropriate theme for my shower.
Everyone knows I love Ariel from the little mermaid but my mental world is in Wonderland and everyday we'd celebrate an unbirthday with spot of tea!
"If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there.”
I walked in and was amazed! All kinds of tasty treats, colorful linens and flowers!
Yeah, that's an Alice cake! Mary's mother made that entire cake. The Alice doll was borrowed from Mary's personal collection.
I took one look at the cupcakes and almost cried. Look! Dinah the cat made it to the party (good distraction).
Each rose was hand made by Mary's mom.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and caprese appetizers! My favorites!
"Whose been painting my roses red!?"
Centerpieces with teacups and vibrant colored gerber daisies
I LIKED IT!
I want to eat a cookie so I could shrink to a size small enough to live inside of these!
The deck of cards have graphics from the original Alice's Adventures in Wonderland book by Lewis Carroll.
You must have a cup of tea! Its not a tea party until you have yourself some tea!
Too much good stuff! Godiva chocolates and another homemade cake!
Everyone was mad when they created these mad hatter hats!
I had to choose a favorite and what do you know.. I picked the hat with everything on it!
Bridesmaids sharing their stories about how we met (oh boy) and their favorite memories we've had.
CANDY BUFFET!!!! Need I say more?
Each guest at the mad hatter tea party had the pleasure of taking home a lovely mug loaded with sweets.
One candy will make you grow taller and the other candy will make you grow shorter.
A very merry unbirthday to you, to you, and you and you and you!
One of the highlights of getting married was the bridal shower. This was the most amazing surprise from my bridesmaids, thank you. I seriously owe a BIG Thank You to Mary and her mother for heading this event, it was absolutely gorgeous and completely unforgettable. Words will never explain how much I loved this entire day.
Oh and Thank you Tiffany for creating all the graphics and to Jessica for your help with the centerpieces.
"Now blow the candle out my dear and make your wish come true..."
I got to the center and it was gooooood! Who doesn't love German chocolate cake?
