Florence - Part I

If you're ever in Florence and want good pizza and beer, go to Mostodolce. They brew their own beer that's even won awards and all their pizzas are made to order. It's that good ol' pub feel with a hint of being at home but everyone speaks Italian and the food is better.
Good beer at a good price. We didn't break the bank at this place.

Napoli Pizza: Tomatoes, mozzarella, capers, oregano and anchovies! Yes, it was good!
Coccoline: Basically its pizza dough rolled up into balls and baked. Served with Salsa.

Round two! We came back another night for more pizza and beer! It's THAT good! I ordered an old fashioned margherita pizza and Mike had a pizza with slices of hot dog, ham, mushrooms and artichokes (for me to pick off).
We can watch them toss the dough and cook our pizza from our table.

Yellow Bar: A great spot for good home made pasta. Our friend Louie recommended this place to us and the food is so good! We're glad he told us about it but bummed at the same time. We know we'll probably never have pasta that good again. I was so full afterwards I felt like I was going to puke. This is a full on restaurant and again the kitchen is wide open so you can watch everything be prepared. We got there at 7:20 and the place was filling up fast.
Cheese platter and a litre of the house wine please!

We just had to try this fresh spaghetti. Mike had spaghetti carbonara (buttery goodness with bacon and egg) and I had spaghetti alla carrettiera (the spicy spaghetti).
We're bringing the dogs when we come back to Europe... they're welcome everywhere!

Leaving Yellow Bar and now there's a long wait outside.
The elevator in our hotel. There's only room for one person at a time. We took turns taking the stairs to the 4th floor.

Grappa...Yaowza! Meant to be sipped and afterwards you breath fire!
View from our hotel room.

Sending love to our loved ones.
This is the way to park a bicycle, in case you were wondering.

Mike was almost convinced to buy illegal goods from this guy. The guy's words were "C'mon you buy this watch, its best on the black market" (as he pointed to his skin color).
The coconut was calling my name.

Time to do laundry and pass time while it rained outside.
Mike can't travel without space-saver bags. Mike's clothes before...

Mike's clothes after... look at all that space saved!
I wasn't amused at Mike's excitement in space-saving.

We strolled into the '1 Euro' store and what does Mike find? More space saver bags and toilet paper! Look at how happy he is!
