When in Rome.... Part II

Here's Robot in a store with some more of his brothers

We found an old toy maker that carves everything by hand from wood. Pretty cool.

Another day we went to The Pantheon. It used to be a pagan church but has now been converted to a Christian church. It's dome is perfectly round in length, width, and even it's height. The top of the dome has an opening in it. If you were to visit it on a rainy day and stand inside you'd get wet.

After the Pantheon we went to Piazza Navona. This is a really big oval piazza with a couple fountains and monuments. It was completely filled with atrists selling their work and sketchers offering to draw you. They were everywhere. Again we decided to people watch over some gelato.

We saw this crazy lady and had to snap a quick shot. I told Elaina this is gonna be her when she gets old!

Sweet bachelorette party this chick is having... NOT!

The last two days of our stay in Rome our good friend Corey hooked us up with the brother of his good friend, Jeff. Jeff is a super cool guy that works for the Embassy and lives in a badass part of Rome up on a hill. Jeff's face and apartment photos have been witheld to protect the innocent. His place was SWEET though!

One day we went down to the Tiber River on the island side to hang out. It was a nice day and there were lots of other people down there just sun bathing, Robot really enjoyed it.

Once down there we found a nice little place to sit and have sandwiches with a bottle of wine. Once we were there we started to notice how dirty it was down here. Nothing like La Siene in Paris. Upon further investigation we saw a couple USED condoms and multiple wrappers. YUCK! We figured we'd finish our lunch and be on our way. As we looked down at our food, there was condom wrapper touching Elaina's food! At least it wasn't MY food!

As we were getting ready to leave I noticed someone across the river. It was a bum and he was doing something that looked unusual. Taking a DUMP! So I quickly grabbed my camera and started taking pictures. Here he is going at it.

Here's a lady walking and talking on her phone. She has no idea what's going on just ahead of her. She's probably saying, "I have to go to the market tonight and tomorrow I'm getting my hair done, blah blah blah..."

Here she just realized what's going on and her conversation is something like this now, "...blah, blah, blah, OMG! There's a bum here totally taking a DUMP!"
That was a perfect end to our romantic used condom lunch along the river.

Random Shots
Us walking along the Tiber River

More ruins that were found buried and now is over run by hundreds of feral cats. The city has made the area a cat sanctuary. It smells like cat piss!

A different area of ruins that don't smell like piss.

Palm Sunday

Spanish steps and people watching in the evening

Streets filled for shopping near the Spanish steps.

Cool looking shoe store

The key to Jeff's place, pretty sweet looking but takes up a lot of pocket space.

There must have been some Greek/Italians around... Opa!

At the Rome train station on our way to Florence
